Presenting at LAFCPUG with Walter Murch

As part of my trip to the USA I was lucky enough to present my plug-in's at October's LAFCPUG. The LAFCPUG (Pronounced 'laugh-see-pug') is the most wonderful collection of FCP expertise and support wrangled by the great Michael Horton. The real highlight of the night was listening to and meeting Walter Murch, the godfather of film editing. He has a wealth of experience, knowledge and insight into editing and I learned so much from his presentation of his latest film 'Jarhead'.

So once again, here are my free Final Cut Pro plugs.
Just download the zip file from here and copy the contents of the zip into:

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins

The plug-in then appears in the 'color correction' effects tab.

Hey Marcus,
Thanks for the plug-ins. I find myself using Face Light ALL THE TIME to improve the lighting in run-and-gun documentary-style projects where lighting properly was rarely an option. Face Light is a huge help!

If you're considering revising it in the future, one thing I'd love to see would be an option to choose the color of the light. That way, if you have a lousy-looking shot (say, almost monochromatic and greenish in both skin color and background), you could not only brighten up a spot to give more depth, but you could desaturate much of the image (say, removing much of the green cast) but give a hint of color in the subject's face. I know there are ways to do this right now, but Face Light would be an excellent and simple way to accomplish that sort of thing, too. I've used it to brighten up corners or even out unsteady lighting (like a two shot where only one person is well lit) over and over. Again, many thanks!
